In year one, a new tool needs honest churches more than it needs revenue: real congregations praying on it every week and telling the builder the truth. The one condition: launch to your congregation within 30 days of signing up, whether that's announced from the pulpit, linked in the bulletin, or however your church does it. The free year only works if your church is actually praying on it.

The conditions aren't fine print. They're the whole point. A free year with no strings would just be a long trial. This is a partnership, and both sides should know the terms.

  • Launch within 30 days of signing up: invite your congregation, not just the office.
  • A 20-minute call each month: what's working, what's confusing, what's missing.
  • And as Prayer Board earns it, tell the story, on the schedule below. Every one of those asks carries the same condition: if it's earning it.

    Say it, by name

    An honest, publishable testimonial: your name, your church's name, on this website. If we haven't earned one, tell us why instead; that's worth just as much.

  2. Month 6

    Show it

    A short case study we put together with you (photos, real numbers from your dashboard), plus a two-minute video testimony, recorded right in Prayer Board, the same way your members record theirs.

  3. Month 6–9

    Bring us to your network

    One real introduction where pastors already gather: your ministerial alliance, your denomination's gathering, or the pastors' group where you'd honestly recommend it. (No room like that? Two personal introductions to pastor friends do the same work.)

  4. Month 12

    Tell the internet, then decide

    An honest public review where pastors look for software. Then year two is your call, at the published price. No contract, no pressure, and your church's testimonies are yours either way.

Prayer Board is built and run by one person, Dereck Johnson. When you email about a founding spot, he's the one who reads it, and the one who answers. Twenty-five churches willing to tell him the truth, and then tell their friends, are worth more in year one than twenty-five invoices.

What happens after the free year?

You move to the published price for your congregation's size: $39, $79, or $149 a month, the same prices on the pricing page for everyone. There's no special founding-church rate that quietly expires into something bigger, and no contract: you'll hear from us well before the year turns, and you can continue, change plans, or step away. We'd rather tell you what year two costs now than surprise you in month thirteen.

What if we try it and stop using it?

Then tell us why. Honestly, that's the most valuable thing a founding church can give us. There's no penalty and no contract. If you stop, your board pauses rather than disappearing, nothing is deleted without advance notice, and a full copy of your church's data is yours on request. Email us and you'll have it within five business days. The full data policy, in plain language.

What if Prayer Board doesn't earn the testimonial?

Then don't give one. Seriously. Every ask after launch day is conditional on Prayer Board actually serving your church. If it isn't, the monthly call becomes the place you tell us why, and in year one that honesty is worth more to us than praise. What we will never do is publish a word you didn't mean.

Do we really have to do the monthly calls?

Yes. That's the deal, and we'd rather say so here than surprise you later. It's 20 minutes a month with the person who builds the product, and it's the entire reason the free year exists. If a month gets away from you, nobody shuts off your board. But if a church wants the year free and none of the conversation, a founding spot isn't the right fit. The regular 30-day trial is, and there's no hard feelings in that.

Is our data treated differently because we're not paying?

No. Founding churches get the same protections as every church on Prayer Board: only approved members of your own church can see your board, everything is encrypted in transit and at rest, and we never sell or share your data.
